Tasmanian Landscapes 2007

In November 2006 Colin revisited Tasmania after a long absence and somewhat to his surprise the Island State’s convict past exerted a powerful feeling. In particular the penal settlement at Macquarie Harbour and the nearby Gordon River had a strong impact on his reflective imagination. He made several small pencil sketches particularly during a visit to the Sarah Island convict shipbuilding site and has since completed paintings in his studio.
